Responsible Gaming

At Football Index we believe in providing a 'protected entertainment environment'. It is an important part of our overall customer care programme. Gambling in a protected environment should be an exciting and pleasurable experience, for adults. We want you to enjoy the Football Index experience, so please play wisely and within your budget. Please keep your Football Index password secure at all times and to check your last login time each time you return.

1. Staying in Control
The majority of our customers enjoy the Football Index entertainment experience. Whilst the majority of people do gamble within their means, for some gambling can become a problem. It may help you to keep control to remember the following:

  • Never chase your losses
  • Only gamble what you can afford to lose
  • Keep track of the time and amount you spend
  • Make use of the deposit limit tool to help control your spending
  • If you want to have a break from gambling, you can use our self-exclusion options. Further information can be found in the 'Self-Exclusion or Time Out' section below.
  • Make sure you understand the odds/probabilities of winning and losing, and the Game Rules on Football INDEX.

Occasionally individuals may be concerned about their gambling habits. For those who are concerned the following questionnaire from Gamcare may give some guidance.

2. Self-Assessment
If you are concerned that gambling may have taken over your (or someone else's life) then the following questions may help you find out:

  1. Have others ever criticised your gambling?
  2. Have you ever lied to cover up the amount you have gambled or time you have spent doing it?
  3. Do arguments, frustrations or disappointments make you want to gamble?
  4. Do you gamble alone for long periods?
  5. Do you stay away from work or college to gamble?
  6. Do you gamble to escape from a boring or unhappy life?
  7. Are you reluctant to spend 'gambling money' on anything else?
  8. Have you lost interest in your family, friends or pastimes due to gambling?
  9. After losing, do you feel you must try and win back your losses as soon as possible?
  10. When gambling and you run out of money, do you feel lost and in despair, and need to gamble again as soon as possible?
  11. Do you gamble until your last penny is gone?
  12. Have you lied, stolen or borrowed just to get money to gamble or to pay gambling debts?
  13. Do you feel depressed or even suicidal because of your gambling?

These questions are provided to help an individual decide if he or she has a problem and needs to seek help.

3. Setting Limits
As part of our policy, we give you the tools to set a deposit limit to manage the amount of money that you can deposit into your account. Limits can be set for a 24-hour, 7 day or 30 day period and cannot be overridden.

You can decrease your deposit limits at any time and this will be applied immediately.

Before increasing your deposit limits carefully consider if you can afford to do so. Never decide to increase your limit because you have lost money and think that you will win it back by gambling more. If you wish to increase a limit you will need to wait 24 hours before we action your request and then return to our site to confirm that you still want to increase it.

You can set, amend and confirm your deposit limits under ‘Responsible Gaming’ by selecting ‘Deposit Limits’.

4. Reality Checks
To help you manage the amount of time you spend playing at Football Index, you can set up a Reality Check alert on your account. Once set, a pop-up alert will be displayed as a reminder that you have been logged into your account for the specified period of time.

You can set or amend your Reality Check under the ‘Responsible Gaming‘ section.

5. Time Out Tools
If you want to take a short break from playing with us, you can do so by taking a Time Out for a period of 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days or 30 days.

Once you begin your Time Out, you will not be able to use your account. It will not be possible to reactivate your account until your chosen period has ended.

If you want to stop yourself gambling for a longer period of time you should use Self-Exclusion.

To take a Time Out please select ‘Time Out’ under the ‘Responsible Gaming‘ section.
